Corvette Performance - Vette in Transformers 2

Anyone notice that Vette? I thought it was a Callaway at first, but after watching the special features they declared it the new "Corvette" that hasn't bee released yet....

Sorry if this is old news, I haven't noticed it on here and figured it was relative as the movie was just released for home viewing yesterday.

After doing more research into it, I guess its the new "Stingray" Vette....when does this come out!! My wife wants it lol.

What kind of motor is it?

an LS1. They built the concept on a '99 C5 Chassis :) That's what was said in the Transformers 2 DVD.

That suspension is completely different from a c5 though isnt it? Seems strange to put a 12 year old motor in a "future" car. Owell GM does alot of stuff i dont understand lol

I thought I heard 99 Vette...eaither way though... And I dont think this is the "LS1" because it says "Hybrid Stingray" on it. Its seems this engine is an electric/gas engine. Now the one on transformers was probably most deff a LS1. They mentioned that they used the drivetrain from the vette and suspension etc. The one on transformers was basically this body on a C5 Vette.

Beautifull Car though IMO, although quite similar to the Citeron GT

yeah idk if the GM concept has an LS1 but the one in the movie did. The double wishbone looks the same as the C5 and C5.5 but the shock setup is kinda different. The the passanger/drivers footwells by the seats screams C5/6 as well along with the basic layout of the interior. Just put wide rockers on it and some radical skin and interior. I actually like the inside setup

I think it's cool looking. It's a little over the top, but that is partially what does it.

^ I will disagree GM has but to much time and money and showed the public what the new C7 will look like for them to just throw that design away. It may have some tweaks but I will bet you $10 bucks that's what the C7 will look like.

My guess is from looking at Corvette books that this will be nothing more then a concept..Even though it was in the movie. If you look back at old C5 and C6 concepts they were wild like this. I wish they would make one like this..but my feeling is the C7 will be a mild version spin off of the C6. But who knows really.

that car has GAY written all over it.....someone needs to fire whoever is doing the designing at gm.......this pos they are calling a vette and the new camaro are freaking horrible looking........they have both been in transformer movies, maybe they will transform into a good looking car....

plus its a hybrid....who gives a damn about that when you buy a vette. you buy a colbalt or aveo for a hybrid, you buy a vette to haul ass...no wonder gm has gone bankrupt.

It just needs better looking headlights.

i wish to throw up after seeing this "vette"....i hope to god they dont make this the next vette...i kinda like the new maro though.

other than the really big vents that are on the outside of the front grill, i think the car looks good. but i honestly don't see GM going away from the 4 round "corvette" taillights. i think GM will reshape the front and rear-end of this bodystyle and go with it.
