Pontiac G8 2008-2009 - So I broke down and bought a G8 GT last night

Traded my 04 GTO in and got in on their 0% financing deal for the Pontiac end of life things. I probably could have waited another couple of months and gotten a better deal, but hey.....

So yeah. proud new owner of a G8 GT. Now if I can just restrain my nearly uncontrollable urge to modify the thing.

Maybe I'll just start with an exhaust and tune. Haha - sound familiar to anyone?

I've been able to resist the mod urges so far, but that won't last much longer I'm guessing, haha. Was your GTO an auto or a stick? We ran my G8 against my dad's stock 2004 M6 GTO and they were about dead even from a roll.

My GTO was an Auto with heads/cam/headers/tune/etc and ran 11.71@115MPH

Yeah....keeping the mod bug away will be a full time job for my wife. LOL

The G8 is a white one. I wasn't too sure on it at first, but the more I look at it the better I like it. Tried to find a Stryker blue, but there wasn't one within 200 miles.

lol just dont sign into ls1tech anymore so you dont see all the cool shit people do to there cars and make you mod them. i put an exhaust on my car and i couldent stop modding. now im addictied.

There are some people around that can perform miracles with a plasma cutter and a welding machine. Widening a set of wheels should be a piece of cake...lol.

I'm sure you can find someone to widen a set, I just wonder if they's still fit in the wheel wells.

650+ to quailify I believe but it's being offered to clear up inventory. Wish they had it when I bought mine but I paid 8k under sticker so I guess I made out ok :devil:

Way to go. We picked one up for my wife last month. Just disappointed that I dont get to drive it as much...makes my camaro feel like I stepped back in the stone ages.

When I picked mine up in March I lasted 3 weeks before I did intake, tune, axle-back. I've since been able to hold back the urge for headers, cam, etc... so far.

Kyuss what did you use for a tune. The cars exhaust is far to restrictive but I do not want to add headers. It could probably lose a set of mufflers for starters.

I have had an 09 G8 now for just over one year. So far 13,000 troublefree miles and it is a good daily driver.
