I was out for a ride and then a nice hard top SS comes quickly and gets in front of me with a freaking loud exhaust!! I was very excited because I never had a run with a LS1. Its been a long time since I wanted to compare my SS to another LS1:devil:

THE RUN
So we lined up, me 1.5 cars behind(I was feeeling cocky) him at 55 in second. I do the 3 honks and off we go!
At first we stay even and I hear him shift and I pull on him. I shift 3rd by the end of it, I was a full 1.5-2 car in front. We let off because of a curv comin and a car in his lane.

MODS
We got out and talked a bit. The guy was really nice. His car was a 00 with his old 02 engine, he told me he had LS6 intake, PRC 2.5(dont know if 5.3 or LS6), LS1 edit tune, cam(he told me 230ish spec but wasnt sure, he MS2 after..), full exhaust with a cutout, 4:10 gear, rebuilt 6 speed by 6 speeds inc. He told me he put down 420rwhp and ran 12.43@112mph with a shitty 2.2 60ft.

I was happy to finally compare my H/C/I combo VS a H/C 4:10 geared LS1 and see the outcome!!

I didnt spray, of course.

I think the guy is on here, maybe he will chime in!

H/C/I gears only nets him 12.4 at 112? with a crappy 60 foot and and that e.t you would think the mph would have been a lot higher. sounds like a shitty driver but good kill.

LS6 intake; does it count for Intake mod?! :punch:

But I feel the same way about the whole thing; I suspect something is wrong with his car/setup. Maybe he doesnt have a MS2(TSP 233/239) but rather a wayy smaller cam(LS6 or 21ish?). He said to me he wasnt shifting at high rpm because of his powerband(said his car was pulling from 3000-5500?!? thats stock cam!lol). The range of the 233/239 is more like 4500-6800...

Good kill! Shows that power on the dyno doesn't guarantee a number at the track. I know PSM was making around 385 or so and was only able to hit about 112-114 mph due to the trans being impossible to shift along with other problems. Once he got it all figured out he was making 400 and hitting 116-117 consistently.
