OK here's the skinny a comparison that was done today on my 454 (Resleeved ls2 block by RED. 2000 TA 3.73 S60, M6, 1 7/8 headers through a 4" mufflex Magnaflow 4" straight through. SLP lid and KN filter CL SD tune.

The Red line is the ported LS7 intake and the green is the FAST 102mm.

The top (Blue line) is my original tune.

Total gain of 19hp and 23 ft lb's of torque ! Pretty good chunk a change but I think it was worth it ! Feels more responsive when da pedal goes DOWN !!
The tires started spinning on the dyno so might be more there !

Now, can you guys tell me What size CAM do I have ?

Enjoy !

Something small right ? You got a 454 and making mild 427 numbers but with more torque. I am going to guess 244/248 .623/.623 113+3 Very mild cam for a 454 motor.

Hell what do I know, I'm just pulling numbers out of thin air.

This might be dumb but is 102 Fast too big for a heads cam only car?

It's not just heads only, it's a whole new beast of 454 cubic inches with LS7 heads .

You aren't going to fit a FAST 102 on an LS1. You need LS7 heads or LS3 (different versions of the FAST LSXR). So, if you have a 2008+ Vette, G8, new Escalade, or 2010 Camaro, then you could put it on and it'd help.

I'm gonna say a 232 238 .614 .614 with a 114 LSA....

Just a guess though

You guys are very close,

Its a Crane grind of 234/238 on a 115 LSA +2 with a max lift of only .583 lift .

If I would do it again, I'd do the 238/250 .

It's good the way it is. At 3000 rpm's I already have about 450 ft lbs of torque.

1st and 2nd and a lil in 3rd, it just spins anyway. Maybe too much torque? LOL....

BTW Jeremy Formato down here in FL. ported the fast. He said he did not open up the inside much. He opened the runners and port matched and opened up the throat a little.

On a Fbody, It's a TIGHT fit ! On my TA, It clears the Cowl under the windshield just by about 1/4 of an inch.

Also it started spinning the tires on the dyno, so might be more there then we know?

So with 1.8 rockers what is the lift vs the rated lift based on 1.7 rockers ?
Gotta love all that torque you are making. My 402 makes great lowend torque (similar to yours) but your extra cubes just blow me out of the water man as the rpms come up, and those heads really let the power hold on longer vs dropping off. I'd like to know how your car would've done with a few more degrees of duration on both sides, but then again the 1.8s allow the cam to behave like it has more lift then what is lifted.

Attached is the cam spec's.

On a 1.7 rocker, max lift is .551. With the 1.8's it raises the lift to .583

Everyone tends to install a large cam, usually more than needed. As you all can see, my cam is Tiny compared to some making 40 more rwhp. Yet I have the torque down low to get the car movin.

I'm sure this cam is not utilizing the full potential of the LS7 heads. For now, I'm not opening up the engine for a cam swap. Later down the road, who knows.

Next thing I may try n take it to the track after I do some subframe connectors and install my Spohn manual rack.
