my homie who drives a modded v6 camaro told me some little b16 motor hatchie is talking shit about camaro s that our cars are heavy and slow...he beat my homies car by about 2 cars..now he says he wants me....lol i took my homies v6 out by about 8 or 9 cars....so tomorrow i will introduce a ass whooopping too this B16 punk....my car 02 ss 24000.00 miles a4,black wing lid,gmmg exhaust,maf,smooth bellow,k&n filter,ripped back seat out,sportline lowered,285 nittos...so what u guys think....

... I think you should never assume you're gonna beat someone: he could have easily let up so that you would think he could only put 2 cars on your buddies car, and then get you into running your mouth. Then I would get either you or one of your friends to front some cash, then I would beat you by a fender. But thats just me. :)

Best bet is play it professional and cool, a business transaction: talk smack AFTER he loses the first race (by a fender hint hint) and demands a rematch because it was so close. Then offer to double or nothing that he loses by at least 1 full car this time. If he's smart, he'll realize you're rolling him: if not, you got some spending money and never gave up how much pull you hopefully really had on him.

I don't take money from friends or cool guys: but those Honda guys always seem to rub me the wrong way. lol

but no money until my car has a little more then i race 4 money but now just for fun...

I raced my buddies B16 in a early 90's style hatch. He didnt have any mods other then the motor swap. I watched him beat a WRX from 3 different lights. I raced him from a 55 roll. It was pretty bad for him. 00 ls1 a4 3:23s longtubes, true duals, lid, tune.

Ok OP- If the civic really "only" beat your buddies V6 by ~2 cars then you should have this race in the bag. I would however take cautious steps to ensure he is not baiting you, but then again its a free race anyways so if you lose no real harm done except your ego taking a thrashing.

My LT1 car that I had ran a 13.8 with to cold of a plug, to thick oil, street tires against his gutted B16 hatch on street tires... ran him like 3 times and the closest race he had me by two cars and I would rape basic bolt on LS1 cars to the 1/8th..... His motor was pretty much stock..... If he has mods you will have problems. The only mods that you have that really matter is the exhaust and the tires (not that Nitto's are any good). If he has cam's or any good mods your in trouble. Those cars weigh next to nothing and with a stock B16 run about 12's.

he means a stock b16, with the entire stock enterior ripped out, the stock power steering eliminated and a stock turbo off an sti installed.

I think he is exagerating just a TAD..... he does not have many performance monds to be ggggg gone....... unless the other car was a turd........ not to mention with his car having a million miles on it....

I can't remember, it was years ago. I do know I was beating mild LS1 cars untill then (1/8th).

Your forgetting that those hatches gutted weigh like 2200 pounds or something crazy...... a good 1000 pounds less then a 4 then with weight reduction....

My lid/muffler a4 323 geared 98 TA went 8.4@84...

Don't see a 13.8 outrunning that to the 1/8..

I have a really good friend with a 1990 EF hatch *i have one as well for a daily but mine is a 91*. the B16 is a popular N/A none v-tech swap in those cars. His car with pretty aggressive cams full exhaust ported intake T/B and a head had problems keeping up with my basic bolt-ons with EGR LT1 Camaro. his motor being completely built for as far as you can go street able and stay displacement.

outcome was pretty simple from a dig and a roll i still pulled him rather bad by at least 2-3 cars each time. . . .this being in my lt1 Camaro with 185k on the clock.

I love my early style Honda but like hell are they fast . . . . . . just good at keeping miles off my ls1 and getting my fat ass to work on 5 bucks a week. 400 miles to the tank ftw!

lt1 cars are actually a good run for ls1 cars in the 1/8th if they're setup properly and have a good driver.........and the ls1 driver sux

I don't know.. I raced a 2000 civic SI coupe with one and I dusted him. Nasty... He had a fart cannon but not sure what else. probably a 30 roll from a dig I would imagine it being worse for the Civic.

There is about an 800lb difference between a full weight EJ coupe with a driver vs a gutted EK hatch with a driver.

I was talking about a B16A. I figured most assumed that when someone said B16 that they were talking about the VTEC version...... since there is nothing with any kind of power potential in the Japaneese 4 banger world that is single cam really....

People laugh about fat cans but all's they are are wide open mufflers...... everyone knows that a straight threw (bullet) type mufflers makes the more power then a chamberd muffler........... yeat they sound bad but thats because it is a N/A 4 banger....

Really? Well an EK hatch is probably the ugliest hatch i have ever seen so it doesn't really matter. I guess with removal of the power steering and a/c compressor and seats and carpet and other USEFULL things you could have a moderatly fast EJ that's still N/A.. but that kind of means you would be driving a one seater go cart.. Fuck that.
