If that vic jr. will fit I think that'll make alot more power than any of the plastic intakes you can shoose.

well it will fit all I have to do is install the 90 degree elbow and adapt some fittings and i should be good but i was worried i would loose a lot of power using that intake on motor...

Unless I'm missing something...I think that intake will do better than any plastic intake.

Since you have a 4x4 truck I wouldnt run either of those. Theres a guy who put a Pro flow xt on his silverado and lost a full second in the 1/8th mile because it gives up soo much torque.

The vic jr is also a high rpm single plane manifold designed for high rpm, typically at the cost of bottom and mid range. They are especially bad when you put an elbow on them.

I would run a plastic intake manifold myself, but not the LS2!! Its almost the worst plastic intake there is. I ran the LS2 intake for a while and swapped to a FAST 92mm and gained 21rwhp and it was acrosss the board, not just on the top end. You could really feel it!!!

I would personally wait for the FAST 102mm LSXRT Truck intake! Its supposed to be coming out within a month.

sweetS10V8 if you gain 20 over an LS2 was it ported? if not i personally wouldnt spend 1000$+ on a 92/92 when you can get the LS2 ported for around 250

07z71 i would buy a used 90/90 for your set up for around 800$

ls6 inake=10hp minimum 300~

fast intake=20hp 1000~

is 10hp really worth the extra 700?

It wasnt ported. Thats fine that you wouldnt, I would!! especially after trying it for myself and not just relying on reading forums and unrealiable dyno numbers too. Dont even get me started on how bad the dyno testing gets on here, and the lack of info we get.

YES!! The smile it put on my face the first time I hit the gas the first time I tried it out affrimed it was worth it.

Its not all about one peak number, I gained accross the board, and could really feel it. It was amazing. And all these "ported" intakes, are done by humans who make some good, some not so good. Thier repeatability is low.

Jeremy F @ Fasterproms ported an LSXR. Before porting it was 15hp and 16lbft over the stock LS3, and after porting it was worse than stock!! It lost the entire 15hp 16lbft gain and then some.

lol what did he do port right through the thing? That's nuts that it lost that much hp from porting. Not saying its not true, just saying thats crazy and I wonder where it went wrong.

My personal theory.....

The LSX intake (78/90/92mm) all had a large bump at the end of the runner. People basically ported that out to make the power difference everyone has been seeing for years.

When I got my LSXR, I closely looked at the runners and that bump is gone. I think FAST figured that out and fixed it on this new generation of intakes myself.

Manifolds are just like heads, "porting" isn't always a good thing, unless your bench racing or talking a big game on the forum. Many people really screw things up trying to port and dont do a good job, or they over port, both which can cause loss in flow. Even worse it can cause the air to become turbulent and separates! This leads to vorticies and chaos in the runner which results in loss of power!

For what it's worth ,I had a stock LS2 intake on this lq4 228/230 cam 1 3/4 header's and when I switch over to this pro flo intake I gained 25hp. Two Saturday's ago I ran 11:42 at 115.8 with a 1.60ft in 60 degree weather.This is a cam,intake, header car!!!

The stock TBSS LS2 truck manifold is 90mm TB and flows as well as the LS6 and is the same as a reg. truck intake. So its a bolt on swap. Be cheap and easy.

There's a reason Tony Mamo charges $550 to port a FAST intake...and for that same reason i paid him to do mine for my 454. Money well spent, but some people never learn so i'll try not to open that can of worms here. Moral of the story is, a FAST intake will go better on the OP's truck than just about anything else. If it gets ported, make CERTAIN it's done by a reputable person.

All of us with the LS2 (car) intakes get rid of them as soon as possible. Even ported, they do not flow as well as an unported FAST. There are people that pay to have them ported, but that is because they have trouble justifying the $800 for a new FAST. Going fast costs money though. That LSX truck intake looks like it would be the way to go for you.
