General LSX Automobile Discussion - Question on center consoles

Guys,
I have a rather odd ball question here. Does your center console, rather the second piece of the center console that your shifter and the gear indicator stick is on.
Is that 110% solid on your car or does it have play (back and forth, door to door for example) I dont know if I broke a clip while installing it back on the car or not.
Does everyone know what Im getting at here or do I need to explain myself better?
Thank you!

Mine's rock solid. Maybe missed a few bolts or a bolt came loose?

Yeah mine is solid too....
Aren't there like, 2 bolts that hold the top on? Not alot of room for error...

It should fit snug between the lower main portion of the center console and the center HVAC/dash assembly. 2 small screws hold it to the lower center console in the arm rest, under the coin holder.

Ok I found a pic on google and got slightly creative just to be 110% sure we are on the same page. The small piece **outlined in red** thats on TOP of the center console is what's moving **direction of movement in green** Like If I grab at at the very top (right by the ligher) I can slightly move it side to side as shown. Were talking an inch, more than likely less than that of overall travel.

I've taken mine out maybe 20 times in the past week, no movement. Does the lower portion wiggle too? Or does the top move independently?
I would take it out then put it back.

The top portion only. The base (that has two screws at the base, on each side) is rock solid! Just the top (what I outlined in red, where the gear indicator sticker is on, etc)

Im not talking about that piece. Im talking about the smaller piece that is on TOP of the center console. See the picture I posted above, the part is outlined in red.

I Have the exact same problem you do. The part with the shifter boot (front I guess) moves left right. There are some clips that help hold that part together, but I have not really investigated as to if they are worn or something. Mine doesn't move unless I physically move it, but I'd like a fix or ideas. The screws are tight on mine. Kind of did this after I changed my shifter.

Ya just the top front piece yes, and mine also only moves if you move it by hand, otherwise it has zero play.
