also... i hear tony luke's is better than genos or pats... any truth to that? ive been to genos and pats and thought they were pretty damn good. :engarde:

The Philadelphia Museum of Art is one of the finest in the country. Be prepared to spend several hours there (potentially a whole day) as it has a great line up of a variety of art.

You also might consider the Franklin Institute if you are into the sciences.

Of course don't forget Liberty Square, home of the Declaration of Independence.

Genos and Pats are WAY overrated IMO... You will be better served finding almost ANY hole in the wall cheesteak shop.

To be honest, tony lukes makes a so-so steak. You have to add stuff, say onions, peppers, etc. But never no cheese wiz. They make a great roast pork italian with brocoli rabe. But like the guys said-art museum, fraklin institute, independence hall.Maybe take in a show at one of the theaters-walnut streettheater, academy of music,we have many. And some really nice restaurants.good luck and enjoy.

Tony Lukes has gone down hill for some time now...Its just as tourist if not more than Pats/Geno's steaks. Tony Lukes has made the freezer section....

From working in S.Philly and being an avid eater. Johns roast pork is number 1 in my book. For pork and cheese steaks

Bruschetta cheese steak is full of fresh meat and by far the best tasting around
Pork is home made (personal fav of pork is the Large Pork Italian, Spinach and Sharp Provolone)

Don Vito eats here...seen him pick up a bag of at least 7 sandwiches.

Downside to Johns is theyre not open Sat/Sun and theyre hours are 6 a.m to like 2:15 p.m
