Paint & Body Work - Passenger front damage

Any idea how to fix this? It came this way from the dealer, I figured I could get in there some how and glue it back down or something, but I haven't had a chance to really get under the car since it's my DD. I can push it back into place and it looks fine, it just won't stay. Any help would be appreciated. It looks like someone tried to jack the car up in the wrong spot and popped that out. But I'm no expert, so I figured I'd come here first.

it has the tell tale sign of being jack up wrong. Mine ws the same. All i did was drill some holes under the car, through the origional tap and zip-ties it back in place. been holding fine for 4 yrs.

What size holes and what size zip ties? I can't have this lookin like that lol.

they were the basic width zip-ties, and i used the smallest drill bit that the zip-tie could fit through.

The part that got bent, needs to be bent back, I had a person I think use something to pry around he same spot and it sucked right in. Get underneath and look for the difference. It should be apparent. I have not had to deal with this for years so it escapes me what it exactly looks like.

I do know zip ties are not needed.

I know mine is bent, and I can push on it and bend it back, but it won't stay that way. Wonder if there's a way to easily get inside the frame and get it to stay.

I am recalling more now, take a pair of vice grips, there should be a tab, try to bend it back, it is on the underside of the body in the same location.

Yep , it is a flat thinner retangular tab with 2 bolt holes for the fender to attach . Given the fact you can push the fender back in , they possibly rolled that tab over enuff to actually crack the 2 holes on the fender the bolts go thru , allowing the bottom of the fender to move freely . If it was just a case of the tab being rolled over , the lower part of the fender would look like what it looks like in the picture you posted , but you wouldnt be able to physically move it . When that happens the tab typically gets pushed over to the OUTSIDE of the car pushing the fender out , but not allowing ANY movement . If what I think happened , happened to yours it got pushed towards the other way , towards inside , which in turn would stretch the mounting point on the fender , and either crack the holes where the bolt passes thru allowing the fender to pull away , or more likely cracking that hole tab right off .

Once you get if figured out which scenario it is , whover jacked it up owes you a new fender .

Well, I didn't get a chance to look into it too deeply today due to having to get all of my crap out of my old car before I sell it. But I won't be able to get a new fender unless I buy it myself since I bought it that way from the dealer. Is there an easy way to take that fender off and check the scenario you referenced? And if not, how much time should it take so that I can allow that much time this weekend hopefully?

I do want to make this point though, I can't move the ENTIRE panel... just a few inches above the bottom of the car I can push in and it will look normal. Tomorrow I'll take a pic before and after with my hand on it so I can show you where I'm pushing.
