Dyno & Bench Racing Forum - im stock and called out a n20 350z and srt charger

ive been on this site forever without even owning a ls1 powered car lol ! i got into sand rails and i purchased an ls1 with acessories for 2500 and been building it with twins ! now i finally got me a 98 a4 z28! completly stock i cut out the bottom of the airbox took the grille off put a k&n.. so i called out this dude he gots an 350z all hooked up not sure on engine mods but at least nitrous and he has a nice top of the line black on black srt charger i told him to run both against me. my car is ok with 106k doesnt feel too fast though. how do i race him leave it in od? how do i get it not to spin off the line cheap stock slippery tires? i was thinking a full tank of gas and should i put wieght in the trunk for traction? ive driven a stock hemi 5.7 charger and it sucked but this is a 6.2 ooo scary lol.. i think these r close races but ive never raced my car are there cars faster than mine stock?? its ok if i lose cuz my car is old and stock but it would mean alot if i could pull it off against new hp cars! and i will fully modify my car in the future and it will be a race car only for the weekends and cruising!

oh and the other mod before the race will be the egr mod im doing it tomarrow

might be a decent race with the 350Z tho, but i doubt his ONLY mod is Nitrous.

Throw in a 3600-4000 rpm torque converter and a set of drag radials. Then youll have a better chance againt the srt8.:engarde:

would adding gas and wieght in the trunk put wieght on the rear wheels for more traction? cuz if i foot brake it spins to much and if i flash it off idle it will get worse.

then dont use as much throttle....

If that 350Z has bolt-ons and a 75 shot you're gonna get butt-raped. Don't want to call out too many people with a stock car, even if it is an LS1. Do you know if you have 2.73s or 3.23s?

Your tires are crap !! I have a set of 245 50 16 Goodyears (not the best drag tire :eyes: ) on my Z . When theyre hot ,I can load the converter to 1100 rpm and flat punch the throttle . 2.04 60ft .DEAD HOOK w 2:73's ( not really too hard to do ). Your still down on power though . Good luck .

AT LEAST find a set of used Nitto 555R's for the rear and toss on a 100 shot :) that will bag you 2 wins.

dude putting wait in ur car will make it slower it wont give u extra traction. do the moutain due thing spill it on the floor do a burnout and it will give u just a little bit more traction still ur gonna get raped twice u need real mods 2 run with those cars lol
