Racer's Lounge - Does it bother anyone else to open a thread and just see a youtube link?

I've been reading quite a few forums for the past hour or two, and like 1/2 the threads I've clicked on have been youtube videos, most of the time, I don't really care to watch a video, I'd rather just read about it, or at least have SOME EXPLANATION OF THE VIDEO.

Most of the time (90+%) the title is not. It's something like "This was so awesome", "Something crazy happened", and I expect a good read, but I open the page to a youtube link, I'm just like, fuck that.

We shoud start a "Video of the day" thread, where all Vids that don't need explanations can be posted..

Maybe the thread title should include "VID" in it.

like, "Check this crap out - VID"

If its just the video i click back just as quick as i did the link. I hate that.

doesnt bother me as much as a thread dedicated to a link to another thread that someone has something for sale.

That doesn't bother me the most, while it is annoying. I hate it when people start a thread about their engine build and talk about and what their goals are. Then all of a sudden a half page list of parts that are for sale with the dollars amounts and paypal address and shit are given.

No, I have a mouse with a million +1 buttons, but I still have to "click" the back button.

I think every youtube video link thread should have a poll. Is this video good/entertaining/worthwhile or this video sucks as the options. If the video fails horribly and gets a less than majority 'like' rating, the poster gets banned. That would probably make people think twice about uploading shitty videos day in and day out.

Quick story and secret to a quality life - This is on topic since the thread is about annoying stuff.

I have a close friend that makes the most out of "any" situation.. He will find a way to have a good time at a funeral, shopping for clothes with his wife, in a hospital around dying patients, stuck in traffic and late for something important and it just doesn't matter. He simply gets excited and happy about little things that happen thru out the day.. I look at this guys life and seriously "only" good things happen to him always. He has a great wife and relationship with her, two healthy boys, loves his teaching job, healthy and happy and is truely blessed. He doesn't even believe in God, which amazes me in itself. He even has aquired alot of money over the years thru stocks and other investments off a teachers salary.. I have never heard him complain about anything and he really has the Midas touch..

I believe there is something to be said about this way of thinking constantly.. Good Karma or something is rewarded to people that think like that. Easier said then done when something is pissing you off though..:cheers:
