I was wondering what everyone is using for a standalone wiring harness on the ls series motors. I have seen so many on ebay and just not sure which one to get I did a search and everyone was ranting about the 3XX dollar harness that I cant find. Let me know

Got mine off of Ebay from Techrods. Wanna say it was around 350.00 or so. Nice harness and a simple 3 wire hookup.

Does the year matter? Can I use a 98 harness with a 2000 pcm?

The 98 PCM had different plugs, so it will not work with the 99-02 PCM's or harnesses.

1998 is it's own thing..1999-2002 is universal.

PCM plugs on the 98 were the same as the 99-02 just the pinout is different. You could rework your 98 harness, but if you have a choice, as previously said, get a 99-02.

I bought a harness from techrods on ebay as well.
Real good guy to deal with. I'd recommend him!

Very reasonable on harness work AND computer work.
