Just recently moved away from my home town, while I was there I always had access to a lift to change my oil, tried to change it tonight on the floor of my garage and WOW, where the hell do I jack this thing up at? I have a Craftsman floor jack and on the garage floor do not have sufficient clearance to jack the thing up, where does everyone else/how does everyone else jack the car up without giving additional clearance? I am going to run out tomorrow and buy some 2x4's and drive up on them to give me a little clearance I just wondered if anyone else has had this problem.

Thanks,

Jeff

Thats what i do..drive it up on boards. Gives you just enough room to get under the k member

I used bricks. My LS1 Trans Am was so low that th brick wouldn't fit so what i had to do was cut a brick in half length wise, squeeze it between the wheel and wheel well, then back onto that. Once the car was on the little half brick, I would put another two bricks next to it, and one in the middle of them like a pyramid. Then back onto that. At this point i had the ground clearance as well as the 2 bricks' worth of clearance and it was great! Or you can go to sears and buy a specific car jack for lowered cars, you only need 1/2" of clearence, but at $129.99 compared to my GM jack for $19.99 that hant failed me yet in 6 years, i'll just keep backing over bricks. Only takes a few minutes and they only cost $0.44 each.

Red Bricks- $0.44 each,.....

GM performance jack- $19.99......

Having to cut a brick in half to back onto, in order to back onto more bricks, just to be able to jack up your bad ass Trans Am.....priceless. lol

I work at an airport, so i use 2 sets of wheel chocks, drive up onto them, and then i can jack it from the k member. I have ramps that i could use if i didnt have the rs kit. I use the chocks to get on the ramps if its going to be up for awhile. You can cut down some
2x4's to make your own set of chocks.

piece of cake untill you own a 2nd gen S10 with a 4/5 drop, I had to lift at each wheel well to get the four pickups for a two post lift under the frame.
