Generation IV External Engine - l76 map sensor ??

i ahve the l92/l76 combo on my 414 setup and i had made due with an old map sensor from a ls1 setup and a bracket i fabbed up, but now that teh ecm is giving me map codes without looking further into im probably going to just replace it as im sure its not sealing as well as it should.

so my question is can i just get a ls3 map sensor and plug it up to my ls1 wiring and ecm?? or is there an other option.

The connector is different. Why not just replace it with another LS1 style?

the l76 one is in a different location and mounts different
the ls1 map clips slash plugs into place and is in the back
the l76 has a tab and a hole for a bolt to go through it and is behind the throttle body.

unless they make a ls1 map that bolts on like the l76.

Don't know if this will help. I have included a picture of the map sensor that was in my L76 manifold, (which I have since sold) It was the one you mentioned that fit just back of the throttle body. In case you can't read the part #, it is Delco #16212460. I'm sure it will interchange to a parts store #.

that is the style sensor i have now, but my manifold has a bolt hole to hold it in place instead of the the clip tab like the one you have pictured

The 2002 LS1 F car uses the same sensor. 12614970 is the F car part number.

That means you have a LS3 intake manifold, not a L76.

the outside of the intake runners on mine are not rough like the ls3 and i got it nearly 2 years ago was the ls3 even availible then?

The acoustic cover and bolt in style MAP are dead give-aways. Model year 2008 was the first year so they were available in 2007 calendar year.

any other way to idnetify them i dont have the cover , i got it from a member on here when i was building my setup for 175 bucks and was told it was an l76 so thats why have been saying that,

I can't say for certain since I don't have the manifold anymore, but I seem to recall that it had an extra bracket that the MAP snapped onto, but I am certain that mine was an L76 and it was new and that is/was the MAP sensor. It is the same as an LS1 and I still have it and use it on my MSD 6010.

ok so now i just need a for sure answer can i use the ls3 map on my ls1 ecm, i know the connector is different, so next question can i modify my connector to use it? or do i need to fab a bracket that works much better

Internally they are the same 0-5V system, you will need a new connector to use the LS3 MAP. Go to Rock Auto dot com and you can find the MAP and connector.
