I know this is a repetitive question here but I just want to make sure. My instinct is telling me to put another shim on the pinion to move the pattern to the foot of the tooth but I just wanted to get some opinions.

Ok, drop the pinion shim to .030 possibly a .028, the drive looks deep, and keep the backlash at .009.

The drive got worse, you did not post up a coast pattern. Try to move it to .034. shim if the coast moved towards to OD of the gear.

As long as you post up pics of the final gear pattern and keep listing what shims you're using in the pics then this will make for an excellent cause-and-effect thread. Thanks!
