The GTR isn't that expensive, they are close in cost. My buddy I think paid 75k for his, what's a new Z06 loaded go for, close to $80k?

you would buy an 80k car to drive it all kinds of weather? shit, id buy a nice used WRX for a weather beater and that Z06. i could never drive as ugly as the GTR, not to mention you arent as involved driving with AWD and 40,000 computers helping you

Don't forget that activating the Launch control on the GTR voids the warrenty.

Lol so funny and true.

Vette would probably last longer anyway!

I don't think the GTR was necessarily built for racing... and it would probably win in a drag race to be fair.

gtr is 80k, where as you could pickup a c6z06 for high 30s low 40s nowadays. Big difference in price

Wait, this is ACTUALLY true?

It is if you break the Tranny in it while using it. So it'd be like playing with fire if you use it.

Sucks for them guys too, I think I remember hearing it was around $25k for a new one? Could have been $15k, but damn expensive either way.

So many misinformed idiots still complaining about this GTR warranty! For the 10000000th time, you can now use the LC without fear of voiding the warranty. Nissan changed the clause for 2010 models and previous years. 09 models need only go to the dealership for the reflash, in which it lowers the LC from nearly 5000rpm to 3500rpm launches!

Anyways, give me the GTR anyday. Far more refined vehicle with a turbo motor and TRANSMISSION that has proven to hold 800hp reliably.

Don't compare new cars to 3 year old cars. If you want to play that game, I'll just but a '97 Z51 and put a h/c/i 408 LSx in it and stomp the Z06 for half the price. Gimme a break :eyes:

Still can't beat a Zo6? You say that as if it is sad. Do you know what it would take for an fbody to beat a stock C6Zo6?

Using the launch control on the old ones voided your warranty.

The 2010 GTRs do not come with launch control though...

Dude, what the hell are you talking about? The 2010's come with LC! O9's can be taken to Nissan for their ecu reflash which drops the rpm launch to 3500rpm. You can now launch 09 GTR's without fear of voiding your warranty. Stop spreading false info please!

I would take either car personally. I love rowing my own gears as well, but these dual clutch transmissions that are in factory cars definitely kick some ass. I would think the GT-R is better for a guy who isn't that good at road racing and can learn to drive a faster car. The Z06 is definitely much more of a drivers vehicle and not for the light at heart to really throw around a road course. As far as drag racing goes, that's not really what I'd buy either car for. I could get a camaro or mustang for that.

Both are great cars!!!
but when racing from a dig the Z06 driver better not make any mistakes during the race, because he will definitely get beaten badly by the GTR if he did, GTR's are no joke specially from a dig :guns:

Lastly Give me either of them & I'll be more than happy :)

Awd does not affect the way a car reacts from a roll. Whatever power the car is making, is what it will make when racing. The drivetrain loss is already factored in.

Kind of worded that incorrectly...rather its strenght is obviously from a stop.

Why not?

Clearly this video was comparing just that.

These are two top dog street cars from both companies, I hate the GTR, looks like a ricer's wet dream, and has every assist known to man, and clearly still lost to someone with skill.

I'd rather own a real driver's car.

Put them both on a road course and see who wins...

Beating the GTR in a straight line isn't exactly some kind of great achievement.

If I had paid $70k for a brand new sports car, and all it did was go fast in a straightline, I'd be pretty pissed. That's not what EITHER of these cars are for... And FOR WHAT THEY ARE MADE, the GTR is a faster car anyway.

Both great cars people... Jeez.

Sure, I'll bite.

Generally when 2 people race their cars, its seeing whose car is faster.

This car is faster than that car, is a comparison.

And apparently you still didn't get what I was saying. I was disputing the "well just buy a 3 year old Z06 for $45k and beat it" argument. Cuz that argument can go on forever.

Well its the same car.. if you compare a 06 c6 z06 vs a 09 c6 z06 its the same fucking car. So I could compare it. You can't say a 97 z51 or whatever cause its not the same car were talking about here.. That's like saying my 04 cobra could only be compared with a 2002 fbody, not a 98-01 fbody.. even though its the same fucking car and they all have a ls1 :eyes:

Comparing new to used gets you nowhere when you're talking about money. Everybody knows that. Would you consider somebody that buys a new Z06 dumb because they could have spent $30k less and gotten an '06? It's the same car, so why pay more right?

They are close in price but the ZO6 is actually cheaper. I've seen them go for 68k on average in my area. And of course used they're in the high 50's. Where as a GTR is still new enough idk if they even have that many used models yet.

Actually its funny that I see GTRs more often than C6Z06s for that matter. None the less, the GTR is a car that can perform pretty damn well. But its ugly looks is what honestly drives me away from it. And I know its totally biased but ill take the Z06 anyday. :)
