a couple things im doing this weekend..remove spare tire and jack, remove front sway bar, remove bumper supports, remove windsheild washer fluid....
in shop class right now im also building a BMR style battery tray to mount my battery where my spare tire was...its going to be super light i will be posting some pictures.
Also buying a used SLP lid for cheap from a buddy.
November 18th when i get paid im ordering UMI SFC's from summit and M/T drag radials and new front tires...:) well thats pretty much a wrap for what i have planned in the near future.
...oh ya and a 99 N/A 4.6 DOHC cobra at my school says my ls1 is slow so im gonna have race him when i get those couple things done...let me know what you guys think.

if he is only bolt on you should be able to take him now, 4.6's are pretty weak.

Look up some free mods, every little helps. You ls1 with lid and a few weight reductions should be bottom 13's. His 99 cobra if its a 4 valve should be good for 13.8-14.2 depending on driver. Do you know if he has any mods?

If you are just now removing your spare tire and you don't even have a lid, I would definitely hold off on the windshield wiper reservoir. It only weighs a few lbs, and thats something you will definitely wish you had at times unless this thing is a dedicated racecar... Just my $.02.

I daily drive mine with no windsheild washer...take it out.
If anything there are many many gas stations that have those windsheild cleaners, it doesn't take a few seconds to pull over there if you have to. I really haven't had issues having a dirty windsheild, I drive all seasons...

Oh are you the one from union...whats up man. put that car on a quick diet and get the air lid and have me do your throttle body...she'll rip! I do have a ported maf...steve picked up 8rwhp when i did the one on his car, but he also had headers so you have to consider that with the gains we saw.

what stall are you looking at? I would also do headers if you can, or do headers first with full exhaust. the stall will throw that car in the upper rpm's and without headers it may start to slightly run out of steam. either way you need both!!!
My dad lives in Labadie, about 12 miles from Washington

alright sounds good, ya i know i need ALOT of shit. BUT money is tight with this build because my dad is makeing me save 75% of my checks from now on for college/books ect....so that really sucks...but i will do what i can with what i got. im gonna try to find some used longtubes and run an x pipe with dumps if i can. this is the ultimate budget build right here

i was looking at a YANK mabey 3600-4000 ? im not sure but everyone i read about wishes they had a 4000 that bought a 3400 or smaller, but idk how rediculous a 4000 would be so ill have to do some reading.

I think 3600 is best for the street, It gives you a tad bit more top end, Now if you were at the track all the time with slicks, then maybe 4,000 or 4,400. but you will be dealing with traction issues already with the 3600...

well i got my front bumper support and front sway bar off...thats a start i supose lol...ran into no problems thanks to brad... Now i just need to hook up and get some air flowin to through that motor !!! (m/t, p&p throttle body and mass air, LT, X pipe)

do you have to make up somrthing to go in place of the bumper support
00blacka4
11-11-2009, 10:19 PM
i dont see why...the bumper support has nothing to do with the cover except three plastic rivets and they dont hold anything anyway... it feels like it weight transfers better...maybe its just me though.

thought i heard you had to put somethin there or the bumper would sag you don't have that problem how much you think it weighed
