about to wire in a system in my stock c5, where is the best grounding point? i have an amp with a high input which i need for running the rca in from one of my rear speakers, i will tap into the wires on one of my rear speakers for the signal in.. how do i bring power to the amp though? i have the 4 gauge wire to bring the power, but i just would like to see what the easiest way to run the wire is, which side of the car do i come through the firewall on? is there already a hole in the firewall i can utilize? what route do i take through the cab of the car? btw i have a 2000 corvette hatchback. thanks!

In vette's I always go down passanger side through firewall. As far as grounding, i drill a hole and place a grommet, then ground to frame.

is there a pre-existing hole in the firewall? can i tap a speaker wire for the remote wire?

take out the battery, oem grommet is behind it and 100% usable. A good ground is one of the rear seat bolts, or remote the side pillar that covers the seatbelt and utilize the oem ground

there is no bass in the rear speakers on an oem setup its filtered out, you need to either open the doors and tap at the door subs (not how i would do it), get a pac aoemvet1 or hit up corvetteforum.com and go to car audio c5 faq and read the threads on how to tap the oem wiring behind headunit to get a clean low level signal
