The suggestions thread is headed in the direction of discussing deep staging. Better to have a thread here on that discussion rather than there.

There is some discussion about drivers going in deep before his opponent has lit one set of bulbs (pre stage). It is not a game that driver is playing it is a timing thing.

Once the starter lets go of the button you are on autostart. Starter lets go when three sets of lights are on. That means the driver with one set on has about 10 seconds to get staged which means light the bottom bulbs. Then there is a random number of second 2-3 or 4 that the tree will light. If you are trying to deep stage, then you are in trouble with with time which is why some drivers will light three.

If a driver lights three or deep stages before you light one, you have control of the tree.

The best deep staging strategy is to light top bulbs and figure how to go from one set of bulbs to deep rather than staged then deep cause you won't have the time.

Other solution is starter waits for deep stager(s) to stage before letting go of the button but a lot of tracks and organizations do not require that.

next year im just dicking everyone i line up against. i WILL be first at the light and i WILL be 100% set unless i am beyond a doubt guaranteed that i can courtesy stage without getting completely screwed over before the event.

EVERY bracket race sees courtesy staging as being something you should do, and the fact that they dropped the light on EVERYONE this year is one of the biggest no nos you can do. you dont do it. you simply dont. anywhere that was professionally run, that wouldnt have happened. and if it did, you would be let back in the bracket.(and no, im not bitter still haha)
