I have a complete motor out of a salvaged truck. It has the harness and computer, aluminum block and head, and the large cathedral intake.

I am looking to put this motor in my buggy and I am looking to get some where in the neighborhood of 500hp. I know I am going to get flamed but I don't much about LS motors. I have dealt with big block(drag racing) and Rover motors (rock crawling).

This is what I have been looking at so far.

-Fast 92mm intake and throttle body (better flow and I am very limited in space)
-Fast high volume fuel rail
-new larger injectors
-Cam ????
-head work????
- computer (have stock computer but need software to reprogram... must be able to adjust for different altitude)
-new low profile oil pan (again very limited in space)

Mating this motor to a TH350 and a Atlas 3.0. To the ground through some Danatrac prorock 60.

I love rock racing and I am a solo operation... so any help to reach my goal would be very much appreciated.

make sure it is a 6.0, i am unaware of the trucks having the aluminum block until the 6.2's came out. I could be incorrect tho

A fast intake (ported), med size cam (high 22X low 23X) slightly larger injectors and a good tune, ontop of a good flowing exhaust and intake system (assumed you will be custome making due to installing into a buggy) Do that and I will be confident you will be close to the 500 mark.

Befor I went f/i I have a ls2 pulled out to 402. head work and all of what you are saying above. 487 rwhp and 483 rwtq. that is way over 500 at the crank.
