Dyno & Bench Racing Forum - First real kill...

I was on my way home from school today and little did I know a couple of cars back was the 03 Mach 1 that I see in my schools parking lot every day. I'm in the front sitting at a traffic light and I start to casually drive off, and I see him peeking over to see. Like an ass he weaves in and out of cars to come right up on my ass accelerating and slowing back down... Repeatedly. So at the next light, he's nosing his bumper closer and closer to me. I take a quick peak around, turn off my traction control and casually drive off. I'm at 3000rpm in first and he's literally on my bumper when I floor it. I slam it into second, look back and he's slowly falling further and further back. Chirped third and looked back again, car lengths turned into bus lengths... Then fourth, again I looked back and those bus lengths turned into city blocks. I slow back down and of course he does "the fly-by" and doesn't look at me for the rest of the way into town.

Are these overrated and aren't really that quick, or could this kid just not drive worth a shit?

nice kill--- yeah machs are alot quicker on the internet than in real life. but a good mach with a good driver should be close-ish till about 60 mph. then it's over.

I think if "bus lengths turned into city blocks" he probably let off before you did. In a ~1/4 mile drag race, a Mach 1 will typically be 2-4 car lengths back. 1/8 mile is quite a bit closer. But good kill... this should be in the Kill Stories section though.
