RobZ (who can't post due to a perma-ban) went 9.33 N/A in his 03-Z yesterday at a rental at MIR. Car trapped 117+ in the 1/8th.

BTW...he was rowing the gears.:hail:

That thing goes faster every time he brings it out. Did you guys figure out how to get the factory computer to keep fueling @ higher rpm? Lets see the video, I love Rob'z car!

He's working on it. He'd like to be able to do it without having to run BS3...they've got some ideas.

A few here know the story. Short answer...these forums aren't very democratic.

wow that car doesnt even sound that "wild" for a 9.3's n/a car... thing hauls for sure, still drives it on the street from the looks of it right? What mph did it trap?

His current set-up has trapped in excess of 145. On that run, he trapped 142 since the computer shut him down as he was buzzing thru the traps at 8000+ rpm. Had that not happended, he believes he'd have been hitting 147-148.

The car is street driven and has a valid NJ registration and inspection sticker. It idles at 650 rpm without any "hunting/surging."

Jeez, 9.3's at that speed is pretty good. What kind of 60 foot? I can match 140's mph on my traps but i cant get off the line. That car is awesome!! I debated on buying a C5 Z and wanted to build a LSx motor like that.

Its amazing that its "only" 388 cubes. Good size but those times I'd expect a 400+ inch motor to do

One criterior for this street car build was to be under 400cubes and another was a drag radial.
His best 60' so far is 1.32 on a 25" drag radial.
Best mph is 146.62.

He is really only on a 25" radial? With a 1.32 I would expect 28's, especially with a 6 speed. What is the suspension set up?

Yep. The small tire is better for gearing so he decided to start with the 25" tire.

We are thinking of trying the 28" tire which will cut a better 60' but we are concerned that the loss in gearing will slow the car down especially since we're not seeing excessive wheelspin on the runs.
Since we cannot get the PCM to buzz over 8000rpms we need a quick solution before the end of the season so swapping tires will be the easiest thing right now to change.
Our options are a 28" drag radial or a 26" slick; both will keep the rpms below 8000 going thru the traps but we still can't shift this car above 8000rpms.

Even if the taller tire doesn't et better it would be nice to see a 1.2x short time out of this 6speed vette.

The suspension is stock with qa1 shocks on all 4 corners.

We'll keep you posted.

I am curious to this as well, it sounds like an adjustable slip the way it leaves.. Very impressive car though!

Pretty sure it's a McLeod soft-lok clutch.

Rob also had the fastest NA stock bottom end H/C car in the country before he sold the engine and went this route.

He could get unbanned, there was some arguing and it got old. I banned him because you can't run a site with a couple thousand active posters and not active decisively when an argument become a big distraction in a given forum. I told him/them last year they could get unbanned. Nobody should have hard feelings we are all in our 20/30/40/50's and can get a long.

Well said John.
I would like to see Robz unbanned, nice to see you agree as well.
Can we make this happen soon?
