I had a blown front Monsoon speaker in my '01 Z28, and I had read tuffluck's and Rouge Leader's write-ups on replacing the front speakers with the Alpine A170 speakers, which were great. However, I wasn't too excited about pulling the door panels and going through all of the wiring process they had written about though.
A friend of mine (DJ's99SS/Dennis) hooked me up with his buddy Chris, who owns C&C Sounds in Baytown. Chris said that the Alpine speakers were good speakers, but he recommended the 6-1/2" Memphis speakers. The Memphis speakers are 4 ohm, and 100 max watt power (which according to Chris is VERY underrated), and are of high quality. :hail:
Chris did the install for both Dennis and I today for $100.00 out the door. All I can say is WOW! The Memphis speakers sound absolutely fantastic.
