Fueling & Injection - Tricks to installing an intank fuel pump?

I have heard some people pull the carpet and make a hole. I have no problem entertaining this idea if I knew exactly where to cut. Anyone have a diagram of where to cut? I know the 82-98 Gas tanks are smaller then my 99+ tanks, but do you know if the pump is in the same place? Friend of mine has a diagram for his 95 Z28, but dont want to start cutting away to not find the pump there lol

Not sure which route I am going to go, but since discovering that the rearend does not have to be removed I may give the traditional way a shot.

If you have the plastic tank get Chris's measurements. I used his measurements/pics and got the cut right the first time, nice and neat.
