I think the mute button is out on my steering wheel, It works for a second and then the radio comes back on. How do you remove the buttons to change them out?

I've had the same problem with mine forever. Took it in under warranty twice, first they replaced the steering wheel, then the h.u., didn't fix it. I've seen some other posts about the same thing, so I think it's a defect in all the head units, maybe for certain years. If I had a schematic of the head unit I can think of a possible fix that would require just wiring in a resistor (well it's just a guess but would be easy to try). Anyway, I'd say you'd be wasting your time replacing the buttons.

ok thanks I wont waste my time then...I had to take the car in for some warranty work and thought about getting them to look at it but I know they wont find anything wrong when they look. It worked this after noon but this morning it didnt work.

Mine is exactly the same, sometime it works, sometimes it doesn't. There should really be a TSB for this. Oh, wait, it's GM...

I think it is normal. Both of my Camaros do it. My Lumina and my truck don't. I heard it was something they did to "protect" the amp . . . .
