Strange is no longer offering their f-body 12 bolt with the standard differential. It's now only available with their Super Strength posi. This will insure that you don't have any worries when bolting on sticky tires and pulling the front tires off the ground at the track. The Strange rears are pretty much ready to bolt in. The only assembly is moving the brakes from the stock rear to theirs. They will need to build brake backing plates into the rearend. This can be done by you supplying a set, purchasing a new set or using one of the cores that we have -

gmbbp Options: You will either need to send in your brake backing plates or you can purchase a set to be built into the rear (1998+). If your car has traction control you will need to send in your backing plates along with your axles so Strange can use the reluctor rings. $229.99

gmbbpcore Options: If you can't have any vehicle downtime we can charge you $229.99 for a set of backing plates and send them to Strange to be build into your rear. After your 12 bolt is installed you'd send your stock backing plates to us and we'd credit you $175.00. This option is only available if your car does not have traction control or the ABS at the axles.

The backing plates are only required for 1998+ cars.. $229.99

We have Strange 12 bolt on sale for $2189.99!

What size axles do these come with? Also, I assume ABS option is not included in this price?

They use 33 spline axles and the rears are set up for ABS.

So $2189.99 includes everything? Aluminum cover, ABS/TCS 4 channel, 1350 Yoke, etc..

If so, That's a great price!!

What would be the pricing for this rear end without ABS and TCS? I know there is some labor factored into this rear end for that stuff, so what kind of deductions can be made? I also dont need the cross over u-joint or the u-bolts, so there too is another deduction. According to Strange, the u-bolts and the u-joint are roughly $45 total. So right now with the u-bolts and u-joint deductions, Im looking at $2145. ($2190-$45=$2145)

Ok ok...the old pricing for the rear ends was $2300 and to upgrade to the super strength posi without the ABS ring was $110. So technically thats $2410 regular price for a rear with no ABS ring and $2445 for a rear with it. So Im looking at $2410-$45 (u-bolts and u-joint)=$2365, with the sale Im looking at $2128. I have it all figured out now, just had to do some thinking and a little math. So right now my pricing is $2128, what other deductions can be made for labor since I will not need ABS or TCS? Thanks.

The regular price for this rear is $2429.99. That is set up for ABS and it can be used on a car with traction control. Just need to send in your axles so Strange can pull off the reluctors. Strange used to offer a rear that didn't have ABS and it was quite a bit less than going with the Standard 12 bolt. It looks like they have changed some of their options so I'll have to see what they offer for a non-ABS rear.

I talked to Strange earlier today, they quoted me $2415 for a PRG210 with the super strength posi w/no ABS ring minus the U-bolts and U-joint. Then your regular prices are $50 cheaper than Strange's manufacturer suggested retail price, so that brings it to $2365. Then with the sale, it comes out to be $2128.

That is the part number that your looking for (PRK230) - no ABS and includes the Super Strength posi. They said they don't give a discount for deleteing the U-bolts and U-joint. They can keep the parts but there is no money off. Our sale price for this part number is $1929.99. Add $115. for the aluminum cover ($2044.99).

Is there a diff cost for a spool setup with 3.73s?

I made a mistake in my last post, but I fixed it. I was referring to the PRG210. I talked to Strange yesterday and they said that they would give me a $45 deduction for the cross over u-joint and u-bolts since I told them I didnt need them. They even gave my a reference number so when I call back, they can bring up everything that was discussed and didnt have to hassle with anything.

By the way, Im looking at Strange's catalogue right now, where do you see a PRK230 or are you referring to the PRG230 in which it comes with a spool not a super strength posi. Thanks.

Tbyrne: Just want to make sure the pricing is right for me because I plan on purchasing this before the end date. How soon after I place my order do I need to send in my backing plates? Who do I send them in to? Lastly, when will it ship out? Thanks.

By the way, if you prefer to discuss this privately, private message me back. Thanks. :)

The backing plates are needed for all of the '98+ f-body cars but but you won't need to send in your axles because you don't have traction control. To avoid downtime it will be better to go with one of the core options above (either purchase a set outright or use the cores that we have). The total for this rear with the aluminum cover is $2304.99 and then add in which ever core option you go with. You can place your order online over the weekend.

Thanks,
Tom

The rears are shipped freight collect so we don't have any exact quote. Most of them are usually in the $150.-$200. These rears have been shipping about 4 weeks after the order is placed.

Any way to pick up at your shop to avoid frieght? Or have my company pick up at Strange? I get a huge truck frieght discount through my job....

You would have to pay shipping to have it sent to us plus there would be sales tax if you pick it up here so you'll be better off shipping it to CT. I have a call in to Strange to see if you can have a trucking company pick up from them.
