for a 12w7. theres a guy i might buy a w7 from but i dont know if a 500/1 will be enough. Any opinions?

it should hiy but from what i have been told it could handle a 1000.

jay, you running stock speakers up front? or are you planning to do more? honestly, with a stock system and adding a sub, 500 will be way too much. the fronts just can't keep up in the mid/high portion to have that much bass.

but if you wanted to upgrade later, or even if you didn't, a 500/1 amp would be good. just keep the gain down REAL low in the meantime. otherwise you are going to hear bass, and that's about it :P

agreed, the stock speakers suck when you start to put them up against a more serious/professional style system.

im not running stock speakers, i do plan ongetting components. thats why i asked.

I have a 10W7 with a 500.1 jl amp and it rocks. It should sound good but biggers always better.
