Very very nice.
I wonder if the blown Northstar is also intercooled and how mod friendly is it? I guess we'll find out. Normally I'd be dismayed at the lack of a manual transmission, but the five-speed in the STS is so responsive it probably doesn't need it. The STS is easily GM's best sedan (better than the CTS-V imo), I can't imagine how good this will be.

Sharp car. It's still hard to fathom how Cadillac has turned it image around in such a short amount of time. I really like the V-series emblem that they're using. A few years ago you would have never got me to say something nice about a Caddy.....now I'd be happy to own one.

crapzors, I want a clutch pedal.
Then again I understand going with a slushy here. While the CTS-V goes after the more hardcore peeps who want a bad ass 4 door, the STS-V is larger, a bit more plush, etc... and a slushy makes sense in that segment (although for a nutcase like me I'm still a bit disappointed). As for the XLR-V, well I'm guessing it'll pack the same motor and probably an automatic tranny as well so as to distance itself from the Z06. Would be nice to have a stick shift XLR though.
I'm not too put off by the automatics in either of these two cars as I understand the segments they're competing in. I just hope that Caddy keeps the 6 speed manual in the next gen CTS-V.
Overall a very nice sedan though.

Can you say pulley. I can see these cars running 12s with a pully and a good tune, it will just take time for aftermarket vendors to develop parts for them.

Is the bottom end forged?

*ahem* Evo?
Turbo *cough* *cough*
:jest:
And I just noticed that the STS-V is packing a 4.4L version of the Northstar V8. Does it have a smaller bore for reliability purposes or was the stroke shortened?

All I care is that it is .2 liters smaller than the Ford with more HP :chug:

Doesn't the Caddy also have an aluminum block?
Served. The Cobras blown 4.6L still earns its props though. Everyone knows its 390hp rating was BS.
