Well, actually it really wasn't bad to load, but I have to watch my angles and driveway aprons for sure. I put about 100 miles or so on the street, we didn't get it running til the middle of Oct.

Best e.t. N/A, was a 10.70, at 126.8, best of 10.35 with a 100 hit at 132.3, but my cam didn't like the spray, too close on the lobe sep.

Switching to a set of 18*s, and a bigger cam, this winter, and am looking for a mid 9 N/A, and a hi 8 on a mild hit. We'll see.

do you really think that switching to 18* heads and a bigger cam will drop your et by well over a second? think that may be pushing it, but perhaps you know something i don't since i don't know how much or how little the motor you have now has in it. what's the truck weigh out of curiosity? oh, and don't get me wrong, i hope you get every bit of what you're looking for. i'm just gauging how big of a difference the new setup really is. can't wait to find out.

Dave

PH,

At first glance it may look that way.

But I am under convertered and my 60' times were a dismal 1.56 even with a new TCI 8" converter. We bought it and only picked up a tenth over my "tight" converter. I personally have picked up as much as 6 tenths with the right converter, not that I expect that here, but I believe there is some left.

I will also be going from a 303 cfm head to a 350 cfm head, and from a .688-.668 cam to something in the .800-.750 range. We were in the 620 hp range, and I'm hearing of many combos similar to where I'm going making above 800, so if I can get an honest 750 and get my drivetrain matched I see no problem attaining this goal.

There will also be a significant increase in compression, 12.75 to 1 to about 14.25 to 1. The heads I'm using were on a 2700 pound Camaro, with a 434 14 to 1 motor and ran 8.90 all motor, now that was in ideal conditions, and when they slowed down for the 10.90 class, it still ran 142 mph. so I'm using that info as well.

The truck is 2880, and 3180 w/me in it. Much heavier than I had hoped for, I really thought it would be 3000 w/me.

And just to add some info, that n/a pass was the first run after the secondary needle and seat stuck open and flooded the motor and entire intake and so it was burning off a little fuel...LOL. Thank God for an MSD Ign.

Unfortunately we broke a rocker arm on the last pass in the burnout, but it ran a 10.89 at 122 on 7, so I think that may have been a much better indicator, but I'll never know.

Boy....Somebody doesn't like my visor. LOL!!

I do, I think it sets the truck apart.

I don't think its a problem as far as mph goes, I have gone as fast as 127.77 on motor, and I'm feeling no lift on my front end, even when it went 132.35.

If I feel it becomes an issue at speed I'll get rid of it. It has 2 very large openings for the air to flow thru.

Well, you guys win!

On another forum a fella said he had a visor, and his buddies ragged him too.

So he took it off, and picked up 2 tenths, thats all the motivation I need!!!!!LOL!!

As far as the wheels go, we busted ass to finish the truck to get out at least some this past fall, I had those and money got tight, so they will match the rears by spring.

Thanx for the comments, I appreciate any input I can get.
