I recently purchased a 94 v6 camaro. I have a built 383 that i would like to put in it. What would i have to do? New k member? MEch fuel pump and sump? What about the wiring...would i have to use some custom mechanical gages? Anything else i should know? How would i hook the starter up, etc. I also have a 89 built 700r4 that i would like to retrofit. What would i have to do with this? This was all going to go into my 89 RS but i have this car and changed my mind. Any help is appreciated.

No do not check the LT1 section.. This is the place you want to be with questions like that.. thats why this section is called SBC/BBC Specific..

You don't have to have a new K-member but it is nice if you don't mind spending the $440 dollars to get one from BMR. Also, the 700R4 should be a direct fit since its basically the same thing that came in 93-02 fbodys with automatics. The guages will have to be some Autometer guages or something like that. Just make your own guage cluster in the dash or use a guage pod on the a-piller. Also, just use an electric fuel pump and sump the stock tank. And for headers, you can use regular LT1 headers cause the bolt pattern is the same. And the wiring should not be a problem either.. Just wire it up like you would wire up an older car. The stock wiring harness can be unplugged on the passenger side fender. Then just pull out the computer and the rest of the wiring harness that went to the engine. Your lights and stuff will still work..
