Hey guys and gals. I'm new here.
I have an 87 Iroc Z in which I excorcized the demonic TPI, and dropped in a heavenly stroker.
It's a 10.4:1 383ci.
Pro Topline 200cc heads
1.6 RR, Comp XE274 cam
Holley 650DP, and a whole bunch more.
Haven't had it to the track or dyno yet, not sure what it makes.
Just glad it's not TPI EFI anymore.

And this is my new hood. As you can see it's an L-88 scoop. I molded it onto a stock fiberglass hood. It's satin black now, until I can paint it. But the black on Plum doesn't look too bad IMO.

I've been working on the 'hook' part before the motor was put in.
I 've got Lakewood Adj. Traction Action bars, Adj. Panhard rod, and a custom fab remote mount torque arm. I still have the torque arm left to be put in, and I need to get some tires.
My only worry is when I do hook, the T5 exploding into a trillion pieces.

Welcome!
Good to see they have left you a little income to spend on your hobby.
Oh those cars hook, I've known several that work very well. Be careful of body flex tho, I've put several full front to back frame rails/connectors in those 3rd gens.
(Hint)On the T5, they will last longer if you do not power shift, I know its slower, but it takes some stress off the tranny.

I have Comp. Eng. SFC's and I've never powershifted it since I've owned. Also I think the T5 is not very old, considering it had a factory replacement decal on the body when i removed it for the clutch change.
I have heard bad things about the Lakewood TA bars, but for 300 bux, if they break, I'll take em apart and just use the boxed LCA that they came with.
Question, I recently bought a simple Comp. Eng. roll bar(main loop). Will bolting this in help strengthen the car at all, or is it useless without the rest of the cage?
Also I've heard that using those Lakewood TA bars, you can remove the torque arm, is this true? Not that I'll remove mine, I have a new one to put in, I'm just curious.

Yeah, a 650 for now. It gives me better throttle response on the street.

Welcome, and glad to have another stroker SBC on board :D
650 double pumpers work great on 383s, I had one on mine for about a year, and with good tuning, they work well. I recently swapped up to a 750 HP dp and gained a tenth in the 1/4 with a little more mph, but it was a costly $620 :eek2: I'd say make the roll bar at least a 4-point to help strengthen the car, and obviously a door bar (1 or 2) will also help strengthen it more.
