I think the limiting factor may end up being the rocker arms and their mounting system.

Thinking about changing camshafts?I assume you have a 502-502.We recommend between .555" and .580" lift witout changing anything.We have seversal camshfts,but that depends on your application,gears,ect......!
You need to know that anything over .580"lift you must check for lifter and guide bar interfence.The factory hydraulic roller lifer will accept a maxium of .555 to.580 lift on a stock base circle.If you want more lift than this and retain the factory guide bars and retainers you must purchase the CRANE replacement hydraulic roller lifters.We have a camshft that is .610"~.632"lift but then you must go to a different lifter.But the GM springs on that engine are go up to .650" lift.Hope that helps ya! :hail:

yes it did...thanks...yes i have one...and ive heard lots...thought i'd ask for some real world answers to keep from havin to go thru the dial indicator thing and abunch of swappin & well, you know...but thanks...biggest i've heard in hyd roller for just a slip in was 244/260 dur 612/636 lift using the factory lifters & springs but changin the pushrods and rockers...info came from a reliable source like you...also have an edlebrock lowrise dual quad & a better ignition for it...take a look

it currently has a T400 full manual reverse with TB and a 3.42 12 bolt...also will be looking for a good T56 to swap someone in the near future...this car is a driver for fun with the family at the drive in...my drag race days are done
