Ok, this summer I had an alarm put on my Z because the house across the street, the house next to mine, and the other house next to mine were all robbed and had their cars stolen. So I went down to my local car audio store and they installed the Viper 560XV. After many trips back, it still isn't working right, but it will do.

The question is, can my specific alarm model be upgraded to function as a two-way? I know that it is compatible with the GPS tracking feature if that means anything. I was just wondering if it was possible, because it didn't say in the manual either way, it just listed some of the more popular options, and then said that there were more and to ask my dealer. But I don't really want to go ask my dealer because they are morons.

Can someone who knows alot about Viper alarms or who installs them help me out here? Thanks in advance.

Try calling some of your other shops about the alarm. There are 4 places by me, each one gives me a different opinion on what alarm features that I should have. Told them I wanted 18" chrome wheel protected. One place said to put a mercury switch on them, one said dont worry, the next said theyd install one but they are junk, and then next place said it is all in the install and set up. Go with one of the private shops that have been in business for a while and see what they say. Then get a second opinion. Also try calling DEI for assistance.

Im guessing youre talking about the two way remote ?
If you are than you cant use it you need the 791xv. There is an old part that pages you if the alarm does go off, but thats all it does. (its not worth the $$)

GPS feature has nothing to do with it.

Anyways if youre having problems with it take it back and see if theyre willing to upgrade it for you. I would do this all the time for customers.

That system should keep your average car jackin punk from taking it

Hmmm. . . Ok thanks guys. I'll go down there after class and see if how much he would charge me to upgrade.
