hey guys i have a quest. What is the most efficient torque converter out? I have a built up l98 and when my tax check comes in im doin the tranny.

car is a tpi bored .030 over to 355. Has cam, heads, matched intake manifold accel super ram, forged pistons speed pro moly rings 255lph fuel pump and #30 injectors i will be using nitrous probably 75-100 shot and 1 3/4 slp headers will be changed to hooker longtube 1 3/4 headers and 1.6 ratio rockers for a lift of .540

depending on what cam you have that is almost identical to what my old 355 was. I ran a 3200 stall and it worked great!!! I would run a 2800-3400 stall for your application. If you want a can get you a converter at a great deal.

700r4? th350? th400? and what year is the 700r4 if it is one ?? they made diff input shafts in the later years. Also do you want a lockup or non lockup ?

1989 chevy camaro iroc 700r4 I wanna keep overdrive so yes lockup

Drew seems to have been around 1 or 2 thirdgens before so I value his opinion on this one. :jest:
On a mild build like this it's definately worthwhile to do something in the 3000rpm area. I'm guessing the cam will compliment the SuperRam in the 2000-6000rpm range and if that's the case, Set aside some money for very good(sticky) tires. :drive:
I'd definately look into a Precision Industries Vigilante 9.5" converter. If that's not your style, YANK or NEAL can set ya up.
I have a Lock-up 4200 P.I. Vigilante and it drives nice so you have nothing to worry about.
