i have a 350 sbc, bored .60 over 11:1 compression, double hump 882 casting heads, 1.94 valves, 76 cc chambers, ported intake runners to a 1206 felpro gasket about 170cc, port matched to a victor jr, or a torquer (have both) wondering which cam would opt the best performance, and yet still be stretable.also which intake is reccomneded for more power. im not looking for a brand cam, just what specs to get cut on a custom cam. thanks in adavnce, also what kinda power do you think i will be making?

I used a 488/510 lift edelbrock performer rpm cam , as well as the current crane saturday night special in a 355 i used to run. The .488/.510 was used with iron world products sportman heads with mild bowl blending, 650 dp carb, victor jr intake (the torker was a little better around town, but I liked the extra 3/4 mph I got from the Victor Jr.), 3400 stall convertor and 3.73 gears. The crane solid cam was used with canfield aluminum heads and definately had a nastier idle :D

A good cam for that engine wuold be a nice hyd roller. 230-236dur@50 and 510-520 lift. if will give you great midrange and good topend. the victor would be a better intake than the torquer, but a performer rpm would be even better for your needs...as for a carb I would go wtih a 750dp.....

what didnt you like about it ?? I have run 10's on a performer rpm. have you run it at the track ? your other option would be the victor junior then..

i didnt like the high end or the low end, it was a good mid range one, i liked the torquer the best for good low to mid range, and the victor didnt make any power till like 3500 rpms, mabye it was my setup with my small flatt tappet cam

Any cam about 275 degrees seat to seat and .450-.500 lift should work. Since you are more interested in racing I would say maybe a couple more degrees and ~.500 lift.
Just remember that solid and roller cams have more aggressive ramp rates and will make a little more power.

Here is the cam I would use...
with a 1.5 r Hydraulic Roller Cam
.525 .525
224 224 at 50
110 lobe seperation angle
Off the shelf comp cam...With some 1.6 rocker arms it would be .560 lift some depending on valvetrain ur carrying maybe a .500 even lift cam which would put u at .533 lift with a 1.6 Rocker arm...
Should be a good thumper street/strip motor...also would be perfect for the day u get to upgrade to some aluminum heads

Oh and you should get that victor back because with a 4 speed and that cam it would RAPE from a roll and would be awesome at the track...

The Specs look good but I'd make sure that engine is 11:1 Compression ratio. Any idea if the pistons are flat tops or have a dome?
Is that a Flat Tappet Hyd or Hyd Roller cam spec? Sounds like a Hyd Roller but the lift seems very mild. Definately worthy of a Vic Jr. Intake. :engarde:

i believe its a hyd roller cam, i didnt purchase any of the parts yet, except for the cam i just ordered. i was wondering then, is 11:1 to high for pump gas, i want to be able to use pump gas, also i have double hump heads with 76 cc chambers 1.94/1.50. if i got flattop 4-valve relief pressed pin hypereutectic pistons like i was going to buy, what compression should i get to make it 11:1, or mabye even 10.5:1. anyone have any idea, id like to get the best setup to match that cam and intake, without getting new heads, i just got the block bored 60 over so now im ready to buy pistons.
