As a temporary fix I am putting hooker header bolted directly to purple horney glass packs. My headers have 3 1/2 collectors and the purple horneys are 3 inch inlets. Do they bolt right in or do I need a reducer or something. I am thinking this is a silly question, sorry. :emb:

Anyone running purple horneys? How do they sound? I did not buy mine yet.

Way back when they bolted right up to headers, and dumped under the car kinda like a side-pipe pointing down. And back then all collector flanges were the same size. All brands! So everything fit everything. Sounds like that might not be the case anymore.

As for sound, they have a nice deep almost mellow (if they weren't so loud) tone. And they outright ROAR at WOT! I think you'll like em.

So if a person were....budget challenged, you think they would do as a permanent setup? I like flowmasters but if I can get a deep(quality) sound from something cheaper then I'm a go.
Aren't they glasspacks? I thought glasspacks cackled? I'm not being a smartass here I just don't have much knowledge (or experience) with different exhaust types. :emb:

so how can I bolt thoses suckers on, they still advertise as bolting right in to the headers. Anybody know of any reducers with a 3 bolt flange on both sides that go from 3.5 to 3 inch?

The 3 inch glasspacks wont bolt right up so you ll prolly have to buy a 3 1/2 to 3 reducer and buy the glasspacks without the flange and clamp the glasspack to the reducer. I would run them down to your local muffler shop and have them welded clamps suck! While your theyre get the turn downs welded on to i would check everything for fitment first also before you get them welded up. Hope this helps!
