i am building a 383 stroker which i will probably run on the street most of the time, but i'll take her to the track every now and then to see what she can do. my question is if i run a small blower like 6-7 lbs of boost with a set of 72cc heads, will 8:1 compression be good, i know that with a supercharger you want to keep the compression down. i've heard i need higher than this as well as lower than this, who's right? thanks for any help.

8:1 is good. But u have to run more boost. With 8:1 u can run safely at least 15psi of boost which is really good. U can the 6-7 psi but take advantage of that low comp. and use more boost. Is the motor built u know wit forged internals and all?

yes, forged eagle crank, forged eagle rods, and forged je pistons. i was told that with 8:1 that i would have bad low end acceleration. so if i increase the boost that should fix that problem correct.

low compression WITH PUMP GAS, 93 or lower is safe to around 12-15 psi, your 8 to 1 motor should do just fine and still make ok bottom end

running more boost, your also gonna have to kick that timing back, so make sure you get yourself a good timing retard box. MSD makes a nice unit.
