Would it be cheaper to buy an old V1 off ebay and try to get an upgrade or whatever from the company? What is the cheapest way to get a new Valentine V1.

No its more expensive to buy a used and get it upgraded then it would be to buy one new!! Ive compared both.. And it would be just as much to buy a used v3 off ebay then it would be to buy one new..

Yeah, I think usually an upgrade is like $150. Think it might go up the older the version is. If the ebay auction lists the serial #, you can type that into somewhere on V1's website and it will tell you how much it will cost to upgrade it to the current model.

I've got Valentine One for sale, bought it a year ago. I sold my Formula, and bought a bike, I really can't use it anymore. I still have all the original packaging and owner's manual. Also have the hard wire kit and the regular cord for the cig lighter.
I paid $400 for it new a year ago, I'll sell it for $300 shipped to you if you're interested.

Btw, it's the version 1.8 and also comes with two holders (for windshield or for visor) with extra stickies for the windshield.

If you call up Valentine Research and ask them for an "open box" returned unit, they'll sell you one for $360. If they don't have any returns at the moment, you might have to wait for a couple of weeks...
