$150 :eek2: better be good.

Sony make the best cameras and are considered the industry standard.

Adobe Premier is a good, powerful software editing program that comes with a nice price.

Actually Canon has a leg up on Sony for camcorders. They are also better in terms of Digital camera's too.

Sony is really just a name these days. And those darn memory sticks piss me off.

Sony outsells cannon by almost 2x and they cost more. Also the camcorders dont use memory sticks ;)

Which one are you thinking of buying for $1000. When you get serious, send me a pm.

Never said camcorders have memory stick. Just their technology in general. But having said that sony moves more product does not make them better.

For example, I'll take my Digital Rebel over anything Sony has to offer in the same price range or MP level.

I would take a Canon Canon EOS 10d or 20D anyday of the week for professional photography. I can only afford a 300d Rebel though, and my skills are not good enough to be consdiered professional. But what does come out of that SLR camera with the Canon L glass is simply amazing.

As for camcorders, The Sony DCR350 is really really good. But the Canon Optura 40 is also really good for $100 less.

The main reason so many even consider Sony is brand recognition. They pay a little extra for a good product (no doubt they are good) but for less you can get an equal product. Canon, Panasonic, JVC, etc.. Just keep your options open.
