Stereo & Electronics - monsoon question

ok so i bought my car with a very VERY cheap pioneer cd deck and i absolutley hate it...................well come to find out a friend has a cd deck out of his old GTP but im not sure if its the same as our players but they cant be that diffrent

well what im asking is does anyone know if that is in fact the same type of deck used in the f-body's too?

It should work without any trouble. The monsoon deck has a lower output voltage than the standard unit. The unit out of the gtp will plug right in and sound fine. I did the same thing on my camaro, someone had put a nasty looking radio in and I put the stock radio from my 98 chevy pu in and I have had not trouble and my car does have a monsoon system in it.

ok thanks i appreciate the reply.......im just happy i might have a full red dash now without that big nasty green glow from my cd player
