Hey, i'm the new guy. i'll be hanging around investigating the whole idea of replacing my sohc 2.4L 15 year old motor with a relatively fresh LS1.

see, a lot of folks want to spend months waiting on some queer engine from japan. others want to turbo existing motors. while the KA in my car is quite stout i'll want to stay NA (or at least revert back to NA when i want more power).

thats where V8's come in. the LS1 is around the same weight of our old iron blocked 4 bangers and the tranny weight won't matter all that much since its under the car.

so thats why i'm here. research and developement. i'm looking for a better way to make the car do what it needs to do. here's my money pit.

you are definately going in the right direction.. with a cam and some heads on these motors.. you can see an easy 440 to 460 rwhp :D and with your weight of the cars, it will be a tough car to tame on the streets.

Clean S13 by the way. and hope you enjoy your stay here on ls1tech!

Thanks for the compliments guys. i've had the car for about a year now and have spent the entire time getting it to its current condition. if i can retain AC and power steering i'm doing this swap (even if i turbo my sohc in the meantime).

it'll be a stock swap with basic bolt ons. 350 RWHP/TQ is all i'm after. sometimes when ya care about cornering there is such thing as too much power :)
