ok so I finally mounted the 10" JLw6v2 into the Subthump stealth box and managed to squeeze it in place...
Now, it POUNDS so hard the entire rear rattles when the hatch is closed and it's pretty embarrassing outside the car.. :bang:
So, I'm thinking about Dynamatting beneath the carpet, the area above the gas tank... unless someone has other ideas ?
Also, where can I get Dynamat [or the Extreme version] for a somewhat cheaper price, than retail stores ?
Thanks!!
Rahul
It could also be the hatch that is rattling. Turn up the rubber bumpers that the hatch rests on when it is closed.

actually.. now that I'm thinking about it, it's not the hatch.. it's def. somewhere around where the gas tank is.... I'll see if the rubber stops on the hatch help and will post back!

I'm actually missing one of the rubber stoppers... any clue where to get another? I guess I'll check some junkyards for now.

Another thing it might be... sometimes, when subs hit hard enough, they break the spotwelds right by the taillight assemblies. A quick fix for this is to lodge some cardboard in there to keep it from rattling.

I just went thru this with my 2000 Z28. Did the rubber stops, Dynomatted the whole rear under carpet, pulled tail lights and dynomatted every contact point on the back of them plus put on as much volume as possible (lots of little peices), and also covered the whole back of license plate. That eliminated all my rattles. I am only pushing 200 watts continuous into a dual 10" @ 2 ohms.
Hope this helps,
Rick
