I'm sure most of you haven't seen the pics of my drivetrain in the Eastern Section out. Check it out here http://www.ls1tech.com/forums/showthread.php?t=351655

While I was at the shop I decided to take a few pics of my buddies bike. Just about everything is chrome. The swing arm is extended 12 inches. The single-sided swingarm and wheels cost him over $7K dollars. Paint was done by friends at Amherst Street Collision/Custom.

It's obviously much more amazing in life, than in picture. But here they are anyhow. These were just a few quick snap shots, as I was busy fixing my toilet of an automobile.

Oh, and yes, that is a 300 rear tire :hail:

Just some guys bike from Rock Falls Dragway in Wis. There is a bottle on this bike, u can kinda see it between the tire and rear shock. Not sure if this bike was having problems, but this thing was running low 11's only. I have two of his runs on film to prove the times.

to put it bluntly... I guess so. I don't care for it at all for a number of reasons:

-1 Way too much chrome
-2 Rear tire isn't needed. You can tell how much of it he actually uses. I believe it's called the scrub radius er sumthin which is the absolute most of the tire that gets used in leaning situations. You can see from the picthat he doesn't use much of it which equally in more unsprung weight which kills power.
-3 Paint is overkill. What happens when he lays it down??

I think there was somethin else but I can't remember. Anyways, this is just my opinion so I'm sorry if anyone gets offended!!!

This isn't his only bike... It will be in a few magazines VERY shortly. Scrub radius? It's a show bike. The thing can do a burnout through 3rd gear over a 100mph... He's already on his 3rd tire. 300 tire rob power??? Who cares, its a GSXR1000, that's the last thing one would have to worry about on that bike.

He had a Honda 954RR before, not as radical as this one. Extended arm, but was double sided and such. Sold it for $19K.

He's already had more than a few offers over $20k on this one, but it's too nice. Next year he'll have the new model GSXR 1000 with a 330 rear tire.
He has a GSXR 1000 bone stock, and a GSXR 600 as well.

I mean everyone has their own oppinion. But regardless, it's a piece of art. The bike was stripped down completely and put back together by him and his buddy.

In your oppnion maybe. When it's a show bike, I don't see how. A big tire on a muscle car= bad ass, a big tire on a chopper = badass, a big tire on a $30k dollar show bike = badass.

You've voiced your oppinion, and I think that's great. Unfortunately, it means nothing to me. It's a sick bike, with lots of time, and money put into it.

[QUOTE=BAD ASS TA WS6]A big tire on a muscle car= bad ass[QUOTE]

because the entire tire is actually functional.. i agree that many show cars or bikes for this matter are nice but im not much of a show person. I would rather have my vehicle perform but if you can get it to look nice and perform good at the same time then you're doing something right. But in this case with this bike, the tire is a bit too wide and the chrome is overdone. Everyone has their likes and dislikes though.

That's what I said Astro. It's a MIG high mount limited edition pipe though. He had one on his 954RR too. It won't matter when the turbo goes on anyhow, since it will be a straight shot right out of the fairing. I think it will clean up the bike A LOT.

It definately does turn heads everywhere. Basically pull up to a club and pick which girl you want to bring home...

If someone took a Z06, threw on a set of 22's, put on a hideous ground effects kit, tinted the window's green, and did everything possible to ruin the handling of the car, and then went on to tell you "it's a show car." You would tell them it looked like shit and they just ruined a factory perfect machine. that is what this person has done; taken one of the best handling, fastest street machines out there and ruined every characteristic that made the Gixxer 1K the legend that it is.

Yeah there aren't many people with a swing arm setup like his. It comes with the wheels and runs over $7k. I've only seen his particular setup on a Hayabusa. They are currently designing a 330 rear tire kit. It will debut on a biker build off show featuring crotch rockets ;) So keep your eyes open for it.

So, people put skinny ass tires up front, and big ol' slick on the backs of Z06's also calling it a "drag" car, essentially rendering it's former handling abilities useless.
You could complain about that also, but it's serving a purpose for what it was built for. Same with the bike, it's not slow, it's got an awesome back ground as a bike and it still holds up to it, minus the extended swing arm...but just like the Z06, it's a "drag" *style* vehicle.
Just because you don't like the way it look doesn't mean it's shit, it's obviously still capable of performing on an amazing level, just doesn't look the way you want it to while it does. =)

You obviously don't know what to look for with the usage of a rear tire.

If you look at the 3rd picture from the top....you can see that the tire is almost worn to the very edge of the tire. If you ride....this is the 1st thing that you see on the rear tire. I would say that for having a 300 tire on the back that this bike is getting leaned into corners very well....afterall...I know guys that have 180 tires on the rear and have much bigger "chicken strips" then that!!

Not like he's a newb to riding. Like I said, he owns this one, a stock '02 GSXR 1000, and a '01 GSXR 600.

On top of already owning a nasty 954RR, and two 929RRs.

I don't mind that people don't like the bike. It's not mine... He does have a lot of work into it however, most of us can relate to that. Retarded amounts of money dumped into our toys/things that interest us.

I'm obviously sick of hearing blues retarded comments. He can be negative all he wants. Although he's probably jealous over the fact that the bike is worth more than the GTO he can't afford.

No worries though, I posted it to show those who can appreciate hard work, and a lot of thought/time.

What I have not seen mentioned about the rear tire that everyone seems to be forgetting. Contact patch!! Bike tires are curved, so the wider, less curved tire has more rubber on the ground= he may need that wide of a tire to get traction. So those who say it's a waist think about that. This would be a waist on a road race bike. but anyone can tell the bike was built for straigt line dragging/showing. So the tire is useful.
Nice bike for sure. Not really my cup of tea, but it has some detail work on it no doubt.

But thats just my opinion, and it dont matter to most. I would personally have built it up, done suspension mods, ect. Plain dul alum and lots of power and some pretty big balls.

Don't reply in the first place if you have nothing to say. You're obviously ignorant, building a bike from the ground up isn't exactly that easy. Especially to get things to fit perfect. At the time, this was the first single sided swing arm built for the GSXR 1000. Built by alumachrome, it took a few months to get the bike together.

You may not like the chrome, but you wouldn't have to worry about it. You couldn't afford a similar setup anyhow.

Oh sorry, I forgot. The master tech over there has built similar bikes in his garage. Unfortunately, these bikes have real motors. The ones you built just sounded like they had one. With your baseball cards in your spoke wheels and all :jest: I bet you can pedal a mean 10 speed!

I believe you man, I'm just busting your balls. There are plenty of bikes out there with similar setups. But this was the first GSXR 1000 built with this specific kit. It took them 4 months just to build it. They previously had a similar kit on their Hayabusa. The Freddy Krugar bike. I didn't like the paint, but it was a nasty bike.

And you're right, there's nothing like it around here. Competition Edge builds the only bikes even close. You can check out a couple of their bikes in the newest Super Streetbike Magazine. The title is something along the lines of Wicked Bad northeast customs.

Updates on the bike now are the turbo kit, and nitrous. I'll snap a few more pics this weekend.

I like it...tire is a little too large IMO but everything else is bad ass.

Yeah it's big... Only to be bigger. This winter it's going to be re-engineered/fabricated for a 330 rear tire.

The bike made 215 ponies to the tire the other day. That was w/ the turbo only. He hasn't sprayed it yet, but he's not going to run a very big shot anyhow.

I'll grab some videos of him blowing by the shop one of these days. Thing sounds retarded with the turbo/exhaust setup.
