with a big block you may get the power but putting it to the ground might be the biggest problem. good luck.

I only reason I go to work every day is to make the cash to pull that off.
Question is, do I TT the BB or pull it and get a 427 ls1/T56 and TT that.
I like the idea of dropping the weight of the front of that monster, both cars will someday see the road courses. The plan (since I was 5) was always to TT the BBRSZ. The ONLY reason I TTed the 02 SS first was I figured at 200mph I rather not be in a brick aerodynamically. The Z would probably lift right off the ground.
Oh and racehead, you have the low z spoiler on your 71. Me too
I just read how the big spoiler gives 150lb of down force at 120+.
the low spoiler we have gives 125lb of LIFT at 120+.
I guess I'll have to brake down and go with the big one.

Think that you answered your own question.
Why go FI instead of NA with bigger cubes and higher CR for the road course? It might get tricky regulating that much turbo around a turn.

Or you can just build a 565ci BBC with 2-3 kits on it like it looks like I'll be doing! :)

who makes a kmember for that powell?
The PAracing Kmember works great for BBC conversions. That's all we've used.

Unless you do some major aero mods your SS is gonna lift off well before 200 mph too. I'm pretty involved in high speed stuff and have studied this stuff pretty closely. My '71 was innitially going to be my ORR car, but I decided on the much better platform of the 4th gen instead. FYI the stock SS rear spoiler isn't going to help you at all. NataSS runs his SS in ORR events too and he's going to put a WS6 spoiler on it because they work very, very well at high speeds. The SS spoiler is pretty much worthless.
You're right about the little spoiler on my '71 .... but they look sooo right ;) I never did like the big spoilers on them. I guess I'd better just keep drag racing it huh ?!
A TT BBC for a number of reasons would cost about half and far outperform a TT LS1 based 427. It would be heavier, but in a straight line would more than make up for it.
BTW I have a complete guldstrand road racing suspension for sale for a 2nd gen including springs/Bilstein shocks/anti sway bars. The bars are 1 1/4" front and 7/8" rear. They have about 2000 miles on them.
