Ok guys here's wat I'm looking for. I'm looking for opinions on the best rear sway bar. I'm lookin to make good power (something to get me goin around 8.50 in the quarter all of which is going to be done on a DR so suspension is key) and want something that's gonna stand up to the abuse of a trans break and keep teh car dead nutz straight. Give me some ideas and a listing of best to worse on the sway bar list. Thanx

You want to use a solid bar with solid connections. We use the Wolfe anti-roll bar on our car.

2nd vote for the Wolfe anti-roll bar. You might check into their website because they have both the single and double roll bar. Not sure what the single bar's limits are, might be on the boarder line if I remember correctly.

I would go with a double wolfe or give billengsley a call and have them make you a nice fabbed lightweight 9' housing with their drag sway bar on it if you are planning 8s right off the bat.

I have a Spohn drag bar, its stock type with rod end links. Great bar but its getting to be a pain to put some real shocks on the rear since it almost touches the skinny stock shocks.

The BMR bar is the same basic stock type design but at least it has a little curve to clear the shocks.

Another vote for the Wolfe Racecraft anti-roll bar. I have the single, but only plan on going 9.99 at best. Mine has had to be welded twice, (broke at the weld once) so make sure you have an ace welder install it. GL :)

We also have another option available now.

We now have a kit that mounts either a sinlge or double sway bar, to the frame rails above the rearend. Requires that the stock fuel tank not be used.

Ya I saw that but I'm using the stock tank still, I mean geez its a street car :secret2: So I guess the normal double one will have to do. Can u guys maybe lower the price a bit though? :bang:

Wolfe has some nice GP's now and then. I got mine on a GP deal and saved a real nice chunk of change. So if you don't need it immediately, check for the next GP. :)

Ok guys next question is does the double wolfe bar allow the use of the stock tank? Cause its a street car and I want to keep it as "street" looking as possible :burn:

Guys, how noisy is the Wolfe? I have the extreme BMR sway bar and the solid end links are driving me nuts. Constant rattles.

Thanks

You're gonna have the same amount of noise w/the Wolfe. I run the weld in Wolfe single w/endlinks and it's noisy. I was able to quiet it down a touch by running a small thin rubber washer in the bracket on either side of the link.

Other than that.... it's just like everything else.... you either just get used to it or tolorate it. The gains are worth it.

Most people with enough power to need a Wolfe anti-roll bar have enough other noise going on to mask it. :)

I have a 9" w/Detroit locker clacking and whining, along with 4" bullet muffler that takes care of any minor noise my Wolfe bar might be making. Plus, it sure is worth having, the car leaves straight as an arrow, hell you could almost take your hand off the wheel completely. :judge:

Great mod! :hail:

For someone that wants to keep his stock fuel tank, and wants to get all the traction/stiffening possible, should I get the double? Not sure how fast I will be going, but I would think that 9's might be posibble with a setup down the road in a few years, but for now 10's would be the most I would be able to get, depending on how big of a shot I do and traction..
How much would a shop charge to weld it? Thanks

I used Wolfe's sway bar on the turbo car and I'm using ALL Wolfe on the Mustang. :D
