Been done a few times, and they still havent done anything. One more petition will probably just make them warmer for the winter versus causing anything to happen.

The thing that I find interesting is that we haven't seen any spy pictures or write-ups regarding this car at all! GM must have made everyone involved sign a "do not disclose or we can and will kill you" letter. Probably monitoring their every move, kinda like working at the CIA!! All for a Camaro!!!

An old issue of PHR or Hot Rod said something to this effect. That all employee's had to sign a confidentiality agreement that're working around this. Its somewhat odd no one's posted spy pics yet, but hopefully NAIAS 06 we can finally get a glimpse of this bad boy.

yeah, 400 to the wheels is a little ridiculous, although the srt-8s put 360-380 to the wheels and the charger is under 40k(it's 36k)....

but anything above 30k is gonna severely limit the market...they need to price it around a mustang gt-charger r/t(which are mid to high 20s) with a 400hp engine....
supposedly both a challenger and a camaro will be at the naias....that would be cool.....

They can make a 25K 400 hp car. Have a stripped interior and an LS2 and I will be as happy as a fat kid at an ice cream shop.

I have some info here. The show car is being built, the body was just approved. It will be at the Detroit auto show in Jan. it will be sold in 2008

I sure hope they keep the price in line with the GT. If they dont I think they would loose a ton of money. But Im not crossing my fingers. I cant wait to see it at the show though. Then I can figure out if I should save for it or the 2007 Shelby GT 500.

im sure the car will come w/around 400hp, but i doubt it will be advertised that way, that would upset alot of c6 owners, and the vette is GM's baby

I bet it will have 400 HP LS2 and a lesser LS4 offered. I also bet they will keep the price correct. GM has done very well with the C6, Solice, Goat, and for darn sure with the new Z06. I have new faith in GM's ability to make a good sports car. They will not dissappoint us.

unfortunently, since there is only one concept and they are not road testing it, there is very little chance of any spy shots before the auto show.

Detroit should be a nice place to visit in January. :)

Supercharged 5.7 with 450 hp would be great then have like an slp upgrades like they did back in the day you get what you pay for if you want a powerfull ride you have to order it. Hopefully it wont be like the mustangs that you have to wait a year to get....

A SC 6.2 pr 5.7 is not needed. A large pushrod engine (SB) with good fuel economy beats a SC stressed engine in my book. Plus a large pushrod (SB) is cheap to produce.

I just have a hard time believing they'll put a 6.2L S/C'd engine into a 5th gen. Not saying it wont happen, but I just cant really see GM saying "Here's our SS! Now we're sorry Corvette owners, but these Camaro guys are going Cobra hunting...and well, you guys arent. So, here's the LS2".

yeah corbas run very good w/ only a puley upgrade im talking about the 03 s/c one but camaros have always been faster then mustangs

if ford is bringing back shelby then GM should bring back a yenko or copo camaro...

Actually, the rumor is that the 'Vette and by extension the Camaro would get the LS3, which is supposed to have a 6.2Liter displacement. There is a further rumor of a LS9 which would be a S/C 6.2 liter making somewhere around 600 FWHP. This motor is SUPPOSEDLY going to go in either the 2008-2009 Z06 be for the super 'Vette. The first place I saw this rumor was over at Digital Corvettes, brought up by CorvetteConti. Certain members at CZ28 seem to think that the 6.2 making around 450 hp would be the motor for the top level Camaro, with possibly the LS4 5.4 liter in the mid level model. I hope that we see a 500+hp top level Cobra eater from the factory, but I have my doubts (I will be quite happy to eat these words though if GM decides to make a Super Camaro!!).

Maybe they could just SEVERELY underrate the engine so as not to PO any vette guys :jest:

I hope they offer a 1LE option. Manual windows/locks with a 6-speed, no A/C, better suspension for me please.

Back in the 60s..the highest performance camaros had more powerful engines than base corvettes...

I think they can do it again to meet the competition.

I believe a 240hp 3.9 liter V6 as a base motor...
then 400hp for the ls2 V8 and topped off with a 40 grand Camaro SS with a supercharged LS2 with 450 to 500 hp is in the cards...

I still don't understand why GM doesn't just lengthen the Solstice chassis...drop in a V6 or V8 and have a party.

Using the hydroformed chassis and body panels (similiar to the solstice) would allow a profitable low cost run at 20 or 30K units per year.

Or they could stretch the Saturn Sky and drop a v8 in it and have a baby C6! :drive:

Traditionally camaros had the benefit of two small rear seats but it could be done quite easily.

Probably a little more time controlling weight would be a smart way to go. The rush on the Solstice/sky didn't really give the design team to lighten it up.

Thats the only thing that should be done if GM decides to use the low cost yet rigid Kappa platform stretched to fit 2 small back seats and a high hp V8.

Sort of like what mallets doing with the solstice/sky but just extend the chassis to add those two small back seats.

I believe this garbage about a supercharged 4th gen is just that, garbage. GM does not need a SC to make their SB's fast. The LS7 is plenty quick for any uses the General may have up their sleeve. I doubt that the new GM leadership will be pussilanimous in their use of the Vette's powerplants. The General seems to be on the right track, finally.
