Automotive News, Media & Press - Trans Ams / Camaros ever in Car&Driver?

hey i recently started reading car and driver and road and track magazines and such and they give some good articles on comparisons to different types of cars. they just had a cobalt vs. rsx vs saturn ion redline vs. wrx vs srt4 anyway i know the ls1's were shut down after 2002 so i was wondering if there were ever any in depth articles on any ls1 with reviews and such anyone help me out? know where i can go read one?

There were tons and tons of articles......just none since the cars died.

Best thing is to go to your public library or better a local university library, periodicals section, and go through the hard bound back issues. Its all there, just takes a little effort to find.

i have a road and track (i think) of the svt mustang vs camaro ss and the ss whipped it.

Check Popular Mechanic for the 13 quickest cars. There was an article in 1999 that pitted 13 fast stock cars against each other and it included the Cobra as well as the Camaro/Firebird. Not mention the Viper and corvette.

It's basically a compilation of articles from Car & Driver, Motor Trend, Road & Track, and other magazines. Some are just vehicle reviews, some are comparisons (typically Trans Am vs. Camaro vs. Mustang). It covers both LT1 and LS1 4th gen models. I own both. They have some of the same articles in them as far as the comparisons go. But if you're looking for magazine articles on the Firebird or Camaro, these books are definitely the way to go.

Agreed. I have one of these too. Just think how much space you save by having all the articles you want into one book instead of having a stack of magazines laying around.

I still have the 1993 issue of Motor Trend where they had a full blown layout of the then brand new F-body (and history). The cover has a hologram cutaway view of a red Z28.
Another fave is the 2000 issue of MT with "Modern Musclecars" comparion between a WS6, SS, Dakota R/T, Lightning, Mustang GT and Pontiac GTP. But my all time favorite is the June 99 issue of GMHTP which was dedicated to LS1's. It was great and was the main reason for me to buy a LS1.
