does the sirius reciver hook up to the head unit the same way as the xm unit would? i dont want to use the fm transmitter, so what do i need to make it work? i saw a thread where it was done with xm by using the gm9-aux and cables to the reciever. has anyone done this with the sirius unit yet. should i just use the fm modulator. sorry i'm a tard when it comes to electronics

Yes, the Sirius plug-n-play receivers will hook up to the HU the same way with the GM9-AUX. In fact, any auxiliary device with line-level or headphone output (such as MP3 players, etc.) can be connected with the GM9-AUX.

Line connections always sound better than a FM modulated signal
WhiteBird00 & Nova5 covered it.
The GM9-AUX provides RCA AUX-IN.
You can connect any audio source you want into the RCA.
(XM, Sirius, MP3 Player, Walkman, .......whatever)
The RCA AUX-IN will sound much better than the FM-Transmitter and you dont have to worry about static or "losing" the station.
