I want the male and female connectors to make a harness that I would plug in right at the amp in the back of the car. I would then be able to splice into the new harness instead of the car wiring. Does anyone make such a thing? Ot at least can I buy the connectors with wire pigtails hanging out?

Metrea makes one it's number is 78-2001 I think. I used one when I installed my aftermarket amps because I didin't want to cut anything and I didn't want to pay 50 bux for a pac-oem 1. The only thing you have to do is go to the information thread and learn how to rewire it.

78-2001 does not show up as a valid part number on their website.

I used two of these to interface my monsoon amp in the rear wheel area.
I ended up using high levels inputs and also using the factory speaker wiring from this point so I wouldn't have to run new wiring for my speakers from the amp.

I am trying to figure out what you mean. How do you use 2 of them? One would plug onto the car harness. Where does the other go? It can't go into the amp, correct?

I used two becuse with that harness it only includes enough wires for a standard radio plug. This link shows how the thirty two pin harness is actually wired. http://www.houston-f-body.org/tech/monsoon/AmpCamaro.htm
If you look at the one for the firebird it's basically the same but has a picture showing the pinouts on the factory plug. You have two disassmeble the metra plug and add more wires so the correct pins are in place for your amp by pass. I used two so I wouldn't have to make wires or anything like that. I think I paid maybe 10-12 dollars locally for the plugs.
