Just wondering if yall checked out the new impy comercial. just saw it, looks nice, and they have the SS with the ls4. :)

Saw it. It's alright. I didn't expect an Impala behind all the metal gazelles

Saw one in town yesterday (plain jane). Like the body style better than the last one.

Haha, yah right. Bland looking too. I've been saying for years that the Commodore would make the perfect Impala but oh well. And with Zeta canned for NA we get shafted again with the FWD Chi platform which means the next Impala will still be wrong wheel drive.

Least the small v8 is in them now. Wish we had the cars like in other countries. In the middle east they have the Caprice and Lumina with the LS1 in them.

It can be fast, if theres alot of weight on the front :eyes: I cant believe this, *v8's and fwd's* just doesn't mix! :barf: If it was rwd, GM would have a real seller! What do they see in fwd's anyways??

According to some 1/4 et's from some 05 stangs I've seen, they may give the stang a pretty good run. When the 2 door Monte comes out, they may be even closer to the stangs. Car & driver got the Grand Prix GXP to run a 14.3/98. With a cold air induction, that should be a 13 sec car

Cold air induction takes your 1/4 mile time from 14.3 to 13.9? Sounds a bit optimistic to me.

^ I was just about to respond to the same thing: CAI will drop your ET from 14.3 to 14.2; 14.1 if the stock intake was really restrictive and the air coming in is actually cooler than the engine bay air, and you were lucky and the conditions were perfect lol.

I was saying the yet to be released Monte with its lighter weight could possibly be a high 13 sec car with a cai. I just worded it wrong in my previous post. Curb weight for a 06 Monte SS is 3511 and the GP GXP is 3600. A CAI might get it real close though.

just another plain ass car made by GM. and the thing that kills me is that they dont even mention the displacement on demand feature in the commercial. that would make more people check it out i think. drives nice tho, i got to drive one at work about a month ago.

The rear shot looks like a Ford Five Hundred, the front shot looks like a Toyota. No originality.

sadly enough. i like the current one better. deffinatly looks more impala than that boring pile of shit.

Give us the f00king Commodore already. You can't beat an LS2 and a T-56. Then replace the Aussie tails with some sort of three tailight setup that has the reverse lights in the center of the cluster to satisfy purists. It can be done.
